Please check out our YouTube channel for a variety of videos on evangelism.
We can also provide mentoring and training on evangelism to church groups.
Together we can reach the lost in our community.
Are you passionate about sharing Jesus? There are others in our community who feel the same way.
You don't need to do this alone!
Work alongside us for a day or for a season, as we seek to be obedient to the Great Commission.
Every Friday, throughout the year, we meet together to witness to those on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University in downtown Richmond. We pass out tracts and give away books and Bibles, and try to engage students in a spiritual conversation.
Every Friday at noontime, ERVA is on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. downtown. We hope to engage students in spiritual conversations and offer free materials as they head to class or lunch. Over the past few years, we have given away than 20,000 such items to students on campus and had the opportunity to engage in thousands of spiritual conversations. Join us downtown Fridays and witness God bringing students to engage with us as we witness on campus.
There are also similar activities on campus on other days of the week with Christians from other churches.
ERVA was also at MCV downtown for months during the COVID closures, engaging with medical personnel, staff and residents as they work or visit medical offices in the area.
During periods when VCU is closed for break, ERVA will return to the MCV area to witness to that community.
Sunday mornings, several of us bring water, coffee and donuts to folks at the downtown bus transfer area behind the Richmond City Hall. We try to share with and encourage folks that are homeless there as well as those waiting for a bus to work, church or to home. There are also frequent opportunities to pray with and encourage folks as they begin their day.
Whether it is a special event or celebration, or just a routine day, Richmond is filled with people who need to know the Savior. Consider working alongside others as we try to engage with people and share the Good News. Sometimes it is with tracts and materials at parades or community celebrations, sometimes by giving away food, water or coffee at places where people gather during the day. These are also opportunities to pray with and encourage folks.
Northside Outreach Center on Meadowbridge Road offers a variety of ministry opportunities for those interested in serving the many needy in this Northside Richmond community. One of these ministries is a free community dinner during the warmer months. There is an opportunity at these dinners to help prepare and deliver the meal to folks coming to NOC. There is also an opportunity to pray with and engage in spiritual conversations with them, and to give away Christian books and materials.
People with ERVA also participate in sidewalk advocacy for life at several of the abortion clinics in the Richmond community. These are opportunities to pray for and encourage those considering having an abortion to reconsider their choice. Come join others during the week or on Saturday mornings as we pray together for the protection of the unborn, pass out material or engage with women considering abortions at these facilities.
Pregnancy Resource Centers in Richmond provide life-affirming care for women, including free ultrasounds, counseling, baby supplies, and other assistance. Volunteer with or donate to these centers.

ERVA is an informal group of Christ followers from various churches in the Richmond community. We come together to share Jesus, to build His kingdom.
ERVA has three main purposes: 1) To encourage Christians in our community to share Jesus; 2) To equip Christians to share the Good News; and 3) To evangelize, to tell others about their need for a savior.
We know that it's not always easy to get started evangelizing. ERVA is here to help!
There are several ways we can help.
You can check out the videos on our YouTube, Evangelize RVA, particularly "Evangelism - 5 ways to Get Started in 2023". I would encourage you to watch some of the other videos as well.
Contact us for more information about the outreach opportunities that we are involved with. We would be glad to have you work alongside us at one of these events for a day or for a season. Jesus sent His disciples out two by two for a reason. We believe it's better to work alongside another believer in growing the Kingdom.
We would also be willing to train or mentor you or a small group on how to evangelize, how to get started.
You can work alongside us for a day or for a season. Each of us are being led to serve Him in various ways and places. We have opportunities to share Jesus during the week and on weekends. Check out the outreaches shown on this site and contact us for more information about any of these opportunities.
We will also try to connect you to another minisry or opportunity if that is where the Lord leads.
